| So you’ve heard about “Nitrox”.
But what is it and how do you use it ?
Well, in simple terms diving with enriched air (nitrox) gives you more “no decompression time” than diving on air (due to slower nitrogen build-up), allowing you to stay down longer at the same depth without going into decompression. So it’s great if you’re doing a series of repetitive dives, for example on a liveaboard holiday. For this reason, the Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty course. This course is generally held in Go Dive’s
dedicated classroom (1/2 day, 09:00-13:00, plus home study). During the
course you will learn:
An option is available, once qualified, for you to try diving on enriched air while accompanied by one of Go Dive’s professional staff. Go Dive price: £99 (optional - 2 accompanied Nitrox dives at Stoney Cove add £30) You could combine your Enriched Air specialty with your Advanced Open Water course - £269 (including the two nitrox dives) It is also possible to combined your Enriched
Air Diver course with some other PADI specialties:
